Is your child a strong reader—but you know they could be thinking deeper?

Maybe your child:

✓ Reads independently

✓ Finishes books quickly

✓ Is curious and asks lots of questions

✓ Is doing well in school

✓ Could handle more challenging conversations

✓ Isn't getting as much academic enrichment as you'd like

Being “on grade level” isn't the ceiling.

The Curious Reader gives parents simple, meaningful ways to challenge capable readers at home—without turning reading into more homework.

Reading is about more than finishing the book.

WONDER → QUESTION → CONNECT → EXPLAIN → DEFEND → CREATE

A strong reader isn't simply someone who can get through a book.

A strong reader has something to say about it.

Ask better questions.

Instead of:

“Did you like the book?”

Try:

“What makes you think that?”

Instead of:

“What happened?”

Try:

“Which event mattered most—and why?”

Instead of:

“What's the answer?”

Try:

“What evidence supports your idea?”

Better questions create deeper thinkers.

Hi, I'm Alyssa

I'm an educator, a mom, and someone who has always believed that children deserve opportunities to go beyond simply checking a box that says they're “on grade level.”

I created The Curious Reader because I wanted something different for kids who are capable, curious, and ready to go deeper—but don't necessarily need traditional tutoring.

Reading should be more than finishing a certain number of pages.

It should make kids wonder, question, connect, debate and think.

That's what The Curious Reader is all about.

  • The Curious Reader is especially helpful for children who:

    ✓ Enjoy reading

    ✓ Read independently

✓ Are generally doing well academically

    ✓ Ask thoughtful questions

✓ Love learning about new things

    ✓ Need more intellectual challenge

✓ Don't necessarily need traditional tutoring

Your child doesn't have to be “gifted.”

They simply need to be curious and ready for more.

Ready to help your child go deeper?

Give your child 30 days of reading that makes them think.
